Ed Cubberly is a part-rime artist known for creating the Hannibal Lecter mask in "The Silence of the Lambs" and the goalie mask worn by NY Ranger Mike Richter, among others. Mr. Cubberly also works in "lifecasting,"  the process of making sculptures from three-dimensional molds of the body.

James Adamouski, 29, of Springfield, Va./Savannah, Ga.  died 04/02/03 in Black Hawk helicopter crash near Karbala Gap in Iraq.  He was piloting. The military account has changed from friendly fire to hostile fire to pilot disorientation. In days after the crash, his father had FOIAed the maintenance records....took more than a year for him to get them...now the theory is that it was friendly fire, based on his conversations with crew in other helicopter on the mission. The funeral for  CW4 John Priestner, Apache Pilot killed in Iraq, 182 Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade has just ended behind them.
  
     
  
 The nuns,  Sr.Mary Henrietta Iroghumg, Sr. Mary Victur Egbokg, Sr. Mary Victoria Loeka and Sr. Mary Obi Oraka say their goodbyes and embrace Msgr. Granato near the front door of the Rectory as he exits Tueday after Mass.  The Last mass celebrated by Msgr. Granato at St. Lucy's Church, Newark is held Tuesday morning. The monsignor, who is 80 and spent 54 years at the church, he must move out upon the orders of the diocese of Newark.

 Iyanna McDuffie of Rahway, NJ is one of a Kidney Chain. She received a kidney recently and is healing.  Her daughter and parents have been very supportive.  On Thursday, she visits Newark's Beth Israel Medical Center for a check up.  While waiting for Dr. Sadanand Palekar, Director of Renal Transplant to arrive, Iyanna kisses her daughter Adia.

Five families seeking a holistic-approach to early education in what they consider a high-pressure academic environment have started their own private school in a Methodist church in Gladstone. With 13 children enrolled in the K-2 school, the state-licensed school plans to add a grade each year. Private tuition runs $6,600 a year and the school is seeking more students. The parents who run the school come from writing, film and other creative industries.
  
An Edison, NJ firefighter runs accross a berm at the Shell  Gasoline Tank Farm in Sewaren, NJ moments after a 40,000 gal tank of gasoline was struck by two lightning bolts. The fire raged for three days.

Members of the A co. 2nd 113th Infantry out of Newark, NJ run an obstacle course  at Fort Indiantown Gap in Pennsylvania.More than 3,000 NJ Army National Guard troops are training at Fort Indiantown Gap near Harrisburg, PA focusing on marksmanship, urban warfare, convoy and  combat lifesaving.

Edward Peoples of Newark, NJ is sentenced to 65 years in prison before Essex County Superior Court Judge Michael Ravin . In the court were the victim, "Rocky" Jenkins' family including his parents and his daughters. Edward Peoples tried everything to avoid a murder conviction, including spiriting his girlfriend out of state, going on the lam and convincing a friend to testify he wasn't there.

The villagers of Ahuehuetitla, Mexico move through town enroute to the cemetery on the edge of the village to bury 14 year-old Juan Manuel Calixto with his paternal grandmother. The teen was shot and killed in Passaic, NJ defending a fellow gang member. His family flew him home for burial.

Boo Young and her daughter Jessica (age 14) clean clothing they found in the trees by using broken water pipes at a destroyed gasoline station accross the street from a destroyed Dennys on the beachfront in Biloxi, MS. Lenny Hengst takes a short break in catching and loading straw on the wagon Tuesday.  The baler throws the bales onto the wagon every ten seconds, and each wagon holds approx 175 bales.  Farming in 90 degree weather in Warren County, NJ.  The Hengst boys, father Ray (age 80), and his sons Jr. and Lenny bale straw in one of their fields at R. Hengst Farm in Mansfield Twp.  Ray has owned the 600 acre farm since 1954.
